I’ve been out of town for the past two weeks and just missed my Medifast order. I had to come up with some creative solutions for running out of Medifast, but I will save that for another post. Needless to say, I was happy to get back home and find my order waiting for me. I’ve been eager to try out the Medifast pretzels since they were first announced and they were the first food I tried.
The Medifast Pretzel Sticks come in two flavors: Cinnamon and Honey Mustard. Since this was my first meal of the day, I decided to go for Cinnamon. As you can tell by the photo, these are indeed little pretzel sticks like you would buy at the grocery store. However, the texture is quite a bit different. They don’t have the smooth glossy surface of traditional pretzels. And they aren’t covered in salt crystals. They’re like “naked” pretzels. I think this texture actually helps the flavoring adhere to the surface.
And speaking of the flavor – it’s sweet, cinnamon-y and with a distinct buttery component. Maybe it’s because I was eating them for breakfast, but the flavor reminded me of cinnamon toast. Overall, I have to say I like them a lot. If you’re just looking for a traditional pretzel substitute, you might be a little disappointed. But I’m excited to have another crunchy Medifast food to add to my regular routine.

Hi Chris, I have just tried the Cinnamon pretzels and I’d have to say that after the initial shock of ‘Pretzels don’t taste like this, wait, has there been some sort of mix up’ I found them quite delicious, and as you said, having something crunchy certainly makes a nice change.

No problem Chris, I am getting them with next weeks shipment, I can let you know what I think of them then if you would like. Another medifast product I have recently tried for the first time is the Chili nacho cheese puffs which are awesome, probably the tastiest product they have.
Scott – Would definitely like to hear your thoughts about the honey mustard pretzels! I screwed up on my order and didn’t get any Chili Nacho Cheese Puffs, but that will be remedied soon. I’ve heard nothing but raves about them.

I tried to the pretzels (both the cinnamon and the honey mustard and after the first few bites, I could not eat more. The after taste is just too strong. I would recommend dieters to buy one box before committing.
I tried them on day 2 on medifast and become very discouraged because they were so –not good and I had to force myself to eat them and the parm. puffs. Are these better the second go round?

I did not like the Medifast honey mustard pretzels at all. The flavor was good but the pretzle part was stale tasting and feeling. I ate the first bag and then the second was so aweful I could not finish. I like many of the other products, but because of the bad pretzels, I will not be trying the cinnamon.
Wow. I am eating my first bag of the Cinnamon pretzel sticks. They are nasty!!! I am like forcing myself to eat them. And of course I bought 2 boxes of them hoping they would taste like cinnamon but I don’t taste much sweet cinnamon just a stale yucky taste of soy in stick form. I also didn’t like the Parm Puffs… didn’t taste cheesy at all. Just tasted like a soy ball.

Hey – tried the “new” pretzels and I will have to say that they are awful. If you loved the old Medifast pretzels, call and protest! The new ones have NO flavor (I tried the cinnamon and they were AWFUL!), turn to crumbs in your purse, and are very disappointing considering they are “new and improved.” Don’t waste your money – stick to puffs until they reverse their mistake!
I agree!! I loved the old pretzels and the new ones remind me of flavorless Tidbits!! I ordered three boxes because I love them so and didn’t realize they had changed the product–YUCK!!
I loved the old pretzels, but the new ones are gross gross gross! They were so bad it changed my feelings about Medifast…a shame!!!
I have been off Medifast for over a year. I just ordered my old favorites (cinnamon pretzels, cappucino) and the new Cheese Pizza Bites, as well as others. All three of these are awful. I have tried the Lemon Mergange bar and it seems to be about the same. Has Medifast changed most of it’s meals?
I just received me new order for the next month and I’ve noticed they changed the cinnamon pretzel sticks and they are totally different than the old ones and taste totally different too. I hate the new ones. I want the old ones back, PLEASE!
I hate the new pretzels too. Perhaps if Medifast gets enough complaints, they will bring the old, wonderful pretzels back!

I just received the “new and improved” Medifast cinnamon pretzel sticks. I am sooo disappointed! They are disgusting. I loved and looked forward to them each month, but I am now returning them and will never buy them again. Beware!!
I agree!!! I couln’t even finish the bag! They are sold out at my center of the old cinammon pretzels, obviously because they were good. They were my salvation and “treat” and now I will never buy them!!!
They changed the cinnamon pretzels! They are awful! I loved them before they changed them. Now they are absolutely disgusting!
I loved the old cinnamon pretzels, HATE the new ones. I bought a whole case, thinking they were the tried and true ones I’d been buying, but I returned them after tasting just one. I was told by Medifast that they’re not going back to the old manufacturer. In that case, I’ll never buy pretzels again.
I loved the old cinnamon pretzels and was so looking forward to the new and improved ones so I ordered 4 boxes. They were horrible! Almost no cinnamon taste, not sweet, terrible after taste and nearly all broken into little pieces. PLEASE bring back the old ones. I sent all the pretzels back and will pick something else but the old cinnamon ones were so convenient to carry and delicious to eat. Big bummer with the new ones.

Me too, I used to LOVE the old cinnamon and honey mustard pretzels, but what a surprise I got with the ‘new and improved’ ones!! YUCKY! The honey mustard ones are just tasteless, but the cinnamon ones are downright nasty!!! I emailed Medifast my opinion but never got any reply at all. How can we make them go back to the originals? I’m forcing my way through 4 boxes but for my next order (I’m just using them for supplement on maintenance) I don’t know what I’ll do. I feel abandoned!!
I agree, the new cinnamon pretzels are TERRIBLE! Why would they take a perfectly good item and destroy it. I’ll never buy them again.

I dont know what TSFL was thinking but they certainly cant sell a lot of the new pretzels. They are horrible. Seriously, i am so disapointed. I have to dip the honey mustard ones in mustard and the cinnamon ones in peanut butter to eat them. I wish i had known before I ordered 8 boxes anticipating that there would be a shortage if they were yummy. Thank goodness there are other food diets out there because the pretzels are what made me stick to this one. Im not staying with medifast, here I come Jenny Craig
I agree wholeheartedly the new pretzel are AWFUL! I called to complain, but I doubt it will help. I LOVED the old skinny yummy pretzels. The new ones are wider and just terrible. There are times when I need to EAT food and the pretzels and puffs make me feel like I am really eating. The granola bars are sweet and the pretzels and puffs balanced them out. BOO to Medifast for changing a good thing!
The “New” pretzels r the NASTIEST things I’ve ever had!!!!!! YUCK!!!!! The “Old” pretzels were delicious!!!! I LOVED them! I don’t know who made that stupid decision, to change them. They need to be fired!!!!
The new pretzels were kind of dry and had a very accuired taste to me. I have started breaking them up and using them in salads for croutons!
I also think the new pretzels are awful!!! I survived on the old cinnamon sticks! Now I am struggling with staying on Medifast! Just curious…does anyone know where we might get the old kind or another diet plan that has them? I would love to find some of the old ones to purchase….if I had know just how bad the new ones were…I would have bought a year’s supply of the old ones!
I want to add my STRONG complaint about the new “pretzels.” They used to be one of my favorites, but the new ones are like trying to swallow flavorless sawdust! WHOEVER THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA SHOULD BE FIRED! I’ve grown tired of a lot of the Medifast options, but this WAS one that I always loved. Now that this selection is UNEATABLE, this program really doesn’t work for me anymore.

The old cinnamon pretzels used to be delish and remind me of my gramma’s pie crust with sugar/cinnamon. The “New” one were so DIS-tasteful that I have not bought any of them since. Now they claim to have ‘improved’ them so I’ll try 1 box just to see.
