Quick Weight Loss Experiment Begins

Today is the second day of my 31 Day Quick Weight Loss Experiment. My new Medifast shipment arrived yesterday and I have been on-program since opening the box. You may be wondering what this is all about and how it differs from my previous experience with Medifast.

The Background

To be completely honest, I have never really followed Medifast to the letter. I have still managed to lose weight quickly – even while cheating. But I know I have been short-changing myself and the product. Because of this site, I talk to a lot of people who are curious about Medifast, but I am definitely not an expert. I’m just a guy who has kind of stumbled along and had some success while enjoying the process.

I also talk to a lot of people who are on Medifast, but have trouble staying 100% on program. My post about Medifail is one of the most popular and responded-to things on this site. I can definitely relate. It’s really hard for me to turn down a cocktail or a nice dinner out on the town. Because of this, I don’t think I have spent much time in ketosis.

So, I’m launching the 31-Day Quick Weight Loss Experiment as a personal challenge to myself. I am not going to cheat during this time period. I am going to drink plenty of water, cut back on coffee and put some care and consideration into my Lean and Green meals. But absolutely no cheating.

If I’m going to recommend Medifast to anybody, I want to truly know what it’s capable of. Most of my friends and family aren’t extremely overweight, but they could stand to lose 15-20 pounds. For the most part, they eat healthy food, get exercise and live a healthy lifestyle, but over the years they have put on extra pounds. They are looking for a quick weight loss option because they’re getting ready for a wedding or a vacation or just for summer swimsuit season. I want to be able to tell them from personal experience what they can expect from the Medifast program.

The Timeframe

I chose the 31-Day time frame because that’s how long my Medifast supply will last. Also, it’s been written that it takes 21 days to break or implement a habit. Even the most junk food addicted person is capable of taking a month off and trying something different.

The Scale

I will be posting my weight every day. It is really only recommended that you weight yourself once a week – because it fluctuates. But I’m in the habit of weighing myself every morning and if I post it here, it gives me some accountability.

Todays Weigh-In: 214 Pounds (-3 pounds)

You can never tell what you’re in for based on the first day. Water levels are fluctuating. I could gain all of this back by tomorrow, so don’t chalk it up to quick weight loss success. It won’t happen that quickly.
